Hexagon Wooden Laser Cut Necklace is a part of the Geometries collection. The necklace, as the whole Geometries collect, is a wooden laser cut and hand finished jewel. The innovative approach to the contemporary jewelry design and the decision to keep the raw material as packaging shows the machining process. The combination of basic figures reveals the beauty of geometry. There are 3 jewelry sets: Triangle, Hexagon, Rectangle. Each set is composed by one necklace and a pair of earrings. The jewel and the box are designed together. The box is a piece of poplar wood from where the jewel is cut out; the exceeding material doesn’t go to waste but becomes part of the whole project. When you don’t wear the jewel you can put it back in the box and have a nice object to decorate your home. The chain has the adjustable length. Hoe Het Gemaakt Is

Hexagon Wooden Laser Cut Necklace | Using wood as main material is linked to my desire to play with natural elements. I chose the lasercut technology to give an industrial identity which blends with arts and crafts. The shapes are designed using CAD software as Autocad, Illustrator, Rinoceros, and then laser cut. The packaging and the jewel are hand- finished by sanding and protected with translucent paint. In terms of laser-cutting I don’t relay on third parts but I personally use FabLab facilities and services, so that I can follow the entire production process from start to finish and I have the total control on the final result.
