Product Description

The Eclipse is a beautiful and multifunctional object in one. The design, with its clear lines and materiality, invites the user to interact with the product. By turning the mirror, a light will emerge from the ring behind the mirror. It looks like magic! The mirror can also be used as a hand mirror by removing the mirror from the shelf. On the shelf is space for small products such as perfume, keys, wallet, telephone or sunglasses. When it comes to wall décor, the Eclipse is the unique piece in your hallway, living room or bedroom, pretty and eye-catching! The Eclipse is the first product from an upcoming series Sense by Studio Bert Spolders. In this series the designer wants to strengthen the relationship between human and object by increasing intuitive impulses.

How Its Made

The ring of the Eclipse is made from untreated birch plywood that shows its lines on the sides. The shelf is made of sandblasted Douglas wood. Through this process the structure of the wood comes up, and this effect is accentuated by a water stain finish treated with a hardwax oil In the ring a LED light is hidden that shines pleasantly warm white light. Light that shows when the mirror is turned to the right. The LEDs are powered by a white adapter (plug type c, e, f) with a cord of 170cm. The diameter of the glass mirror is 22 cm and has an oak handle. The Eclipse is easy to assemble and easy to hang, with two screws, on the wall. All steps, from design, production to shipping, are taking place at the design studio in Amsterdam North. This product is not suitable for damp enclosed areas, such as the bathroom.
