Lugh pendant lamp is one of the lamps from the Corkmatters series. Laser cutting combined with a unique handmade process transforms a cork sheet into a decorative and organic lamp shade where the light reflecting on the cork and slipping through its holes creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. Its name Lugh derives from the ancient Nordic god of the sun.
How Its Made
Corkmatters series has sustainable concern in the production method. All Corkmatters products are hand made with natural materials (with the exception of the electrical components). In this production method cork is crafted in a unique way, completely different from how it is usually done, where the physical properties of cork are explored to an utmost aesthetic use. Combining laser cutting technology with a non-pollutant handmade shaping process. Two dimensional cork sheets are unfolded into three dimensional sculptural objects.
