The Trattotempo Sand Clock is homemade by the Italian designer Fabrizio Pollaci using sand taken from Mondello beach in Palermo, Italy, his hometown. The quartz arms are made in Germany. The product is available in two variations: ‘dressed’, which comes with a coloured cardboard frame (which will result in a square clock), or ‘naked’ (which will result in a round clock). Trattotempo Sand Clock is a very unique piece.
How Its Made
Trattotempo Sand Clock has a unique dial that is obtained by filling a mould reproducing the correct shape with sand, and some secret ingredients used to get it hard as a stone in just a couple of days.
