The Skin City Paper Art Print is my newest digital urban collage. On this one I experimented with juxtaposing the strictness of the metropolis with the organic forms of human body. What this image implies is that the city is a shelter of anonymity where we find ourselves comfortable in the same way we feel comfortable in our own skin. It is also a story about how urban space is soft and hard, rigid and smooth, colorful & dystopic.
How Its Made
I’m working on my collages digitally in my studio computer, using images I find on the web or photos I’m taking myself in my everyday wanders. I’m cutting, destorting, recolor them to create something entirely new. I’m printing them digitally on photographic matte paper- the Skin City Paper Art Print on it’s original canvas dimensions of 100×50 cm. It is shipped rolled in a cardboard drawings’ tube.
