Is it possible to sew a wooden stool? The STITCHED Stool l is characterized by its high resistance and profusion of seams on seat surface. These have a dual function: as all collection’s objects, they are used both as structural and aesthetic element, creating a warm and emotional mood. The seams are very weavy to act as counterpoint to a rather minimalist design mainly inclined to complement functionality and strength.
How Its Made
The STITCHED Stool is part of the Stitched collection that is a DIY collection of wooden home complements that includes a chair, a stool, tables and a wall clock. We wanted to create a collection in which people could have fun assembling their own object. We wondered to a handcrafted technique, the hand-knitting, in clear contrast with automated CNC router, used to cut out wood pieces with precision. In this way the whole design was driven by junction method, in order to optimize it in performances, to make it easy to carry out and to make it the added value. To assembly these objects the only tools you need are the string and your hands.
